What a long, hot and dry day we had for the AMHS Golden Buckle Championships... Oh My Gosh...  We are still exhausted from it.  The new girl, Butterfield Kandy placed 2nd in her class, behind last years Royal Champion.  Seeing as she only arrived 2 days prior, has only just weaned her foal, she looked pretty good (still a little podgy, but that's ok).  She worked out beautifully, and stood in line well, not square, but at least she stood.. That's all I wanted from her.  Chevy went out and won his class, as usual...  Jack won his class, then went on to Grand Champion Gelding.  While the star of the show again, was Josh.  Won his dilute/taffy class, won his stallion class (beating the current Royal Champ), was Grand Champion Entire, and then was awarded Supreme Champion Miniature Pony Exhibit over the current Royal Supreme Champ.  We are over the moon with Joshy's performance... Don't think he has ever looked or worked as well as he did on Saturday.  Not long now til his retirement begins, that will be a VERY sad time here for us.

Our new mare has just arrived.  Massive thanks to Lyn Kondratenkov for allowing Kandy (AKA - Butterfield Kandy) to come and live with us.  We plan to do a couple of shows with Kandy to finish off the season, then she'll be shown again next season.  Kandy was recently named Reserve Champion Mare at the Vic Stud Pony Show, while she had her foal at foot.  Her foal has been retained by Lyn.

Well, what a disappointing show we had at the Summer Royal.  Probably our worst results ever, and the only show we've done all season where we didn't bring home at least one win or sash.  Josh placed 3rd in the Best presented miniature pony class, and was a disappointing 4th in his stallion class.  Jack was 4th in the Best presented class and placed 2nd in his gelding class.  Guess everyone has to have a "bad" day sooner or later... Just a shame it was at the Royal.  Only a couple of shows left for the season now, thank goodness... I'm more than ready for a break.

Josh has now competed in his last Shetland class.  We've just finished the Vic Stud Pony Show, where he won the senior stallion class (shetland 8.2h & under) and went on to win champion stallion.  What a way to finish his career.. Champ at both the Vic All Shetland Show and the Vic Stud Pony Show!!!  Chevy, our junior gelding was 2nd in his class behind the champion (who came over from SA).  Very happy with both the boys after a long, hot, dry and dusty day.

Another new addition to the stud (and another miniature horse!!!) is the very striking chestnut pinto colt Wenalan Snippets Scout.  Scout will be gelded once he arrives and settles in, and will then be shown in the mini horse ring alongside Diva.  Thanks again to Wendy for selling Scout to us.  Can't wait til they both arrive.

We are very happy to announce that we have purchased a Miniature Horse weanling filly.  Diva (Wenalan Orions Devine Diva) is a stunning minimal black pinto, who will be shown most likely in the mini horse ring for something different.  She will arrive her once she is weaned (another couple of months to go).  Big thankyou to Wendy Barton for allowing Diva to come and live with us.  Also to arrive here, later in the year, is the beautiful bay pinto small shetland mare Butterfield Mimi.  Mia, as she is known, will be a lovely addition to our broodmare team and will be bred to Josh for a 2013 foal.  Big thanks to Michelle Doyle for agreeing to sell Mia to us.  Finally, we do also have another mare that will be joining our stud in the next few weeks.  More details on her once she arrives (her current owners don't want names announced yet).  This mare will be shown for at least one season, before being bred to Josh.

Another great show run by the AMHS.  This time, the show was held at Greendale.  Lovely grounds, great people and fantastic prizes.  Josh was lucky enough to win his stallion class and go Reserve Champion Entire.  Jack won his class and went Champion Gelding, while Chevy won his class and was Reserve Champion gelding behind Jack (a nice little double there!). Then Jack was 2nd in his colour class, Josh win his, and Chevy won his. All in all, a great day, bringing home 3 sashes and 5 massive gold cup trophies.  (Love these AMHS shows!!!)  Oh, and we were home nice & early for a change!!! Finished by 10am (8am start) and home by around 12 noon.

First show of the new year has been and passed.  We headed off to the Bunyip AMPS Groups show.  Chevy as usual won his class.  Jack won his class and then went Reserve Champion Junior Gelding, and Josh placed a disappointing 3rd (his lowest ever placing)  We didn't bother staying for the colour classes, as we'd already been soaked thru twice (going thru 2 changes of clothes) and needed a clean DRY set to wear home.

Late finishes seem to be the thing lately... Another long day at the Vic AMPS State Champs. Chevy won his gelding class. Jack placed in his, then won his colour class & went Best Black/Brown in show.  The old man Josh won his stallion class, then won his colour class & went Best Dilute in show. All the boys can now have a couple of weeks off for a well deserved rest.

Another long haul, this time a 3hr trip to Bendigo for the All Shetland Show.  Chevy, the baby of the team won his Shetland gelding class 2yrs & under, then went Reserve Champion Gelding 8.2h & under behind his half brother.  While Josh won his class, then went on to be awarded Champion Stallion or Colt...  Fantastic effort for Josh under an INTERNATIONAL JUDGE!!! (From Scotland no less, home of the Shetlands!!!)  Unfortunately, we had to forfeit our chance to compete for Supreme, as we wouldn't have got on til probably 5pm, then had to pack up & drive 3 hrs home... (as it was we got inside just after 7pm)

A 2hr trip, saw the start of the latest show day.  We were off to the AMHS Championships Show at Officer.  The AMHS is a newly formed breed society, so we thought we'd support them.  All 3 boys performed really well with multiple class wins each.  Josh (& myself) won the Best presented class.  Josh then won his stallion class & Champion entire, as well as his colour class.  Jack won his gelding class & Champion gelding, along with a win in his colour class and Best Coloured, while the baby of the team, Chevy, won his gelding class and his colour class. After the show, as we were finished REALLY early, we called in to Akoonah Park on the way home to pop Chevy in a couple of Pinto classes (Pinto Pre Royal Show)... Chevy did 2 classes for a 1st and a 2nd.  Extremely proud of the boys.

Lovely day at Daylesford Show.... Was the first time we'd been, so didnt know what to expect, but what a BEAUTIFUL showground.  The boys did us very proud again.  Josh was Champion Miniature Pony Entire and Reserve Champion Small Shetland Entire.  Jack was Champion Miniature Pony Gelding, and little Chevy (the baby of the team), was Champion Small Shetland Gelding.  We left the grounds and it started pouring with rain only 10 mins from the grounds.  Rained all the way home (2hr trip), and we got home to find EVERYTHING underwater, and almost 3 inches in the rain guage...  Even now, it's STILL raining...

After a long day at Clunes, we then ventured to Tonimbuk for the APSB APO&B Youngstock show.  Ananaka Lodge Royal Jackpot won his class yet again.  While Reztak Chevy was 2nd in his Small Shetland class.  We didnt stay for the double shot classes, as they were after lunch, and we had a long trip home ahead of us.  Very proud of ALL the boys over the weekend.  Wishing we had a female in the show team thou... Would be nice to compete against some 'different' ponies.

A very wet Clunes show was the scene of this weekends competition.  It rained NON stop for the entire Miniature Pony program, meaning we got totally drenched.  It didnt matter thou, we ended up having a very successful show.  Wooloo Golden Josh was awarded Champion Miniature Pony Stallion, Champion Coloured Miniature Pony and Reserve Champion Small Shetland Entire (Not bad for a pony that is still not in show condition yet).  Reztak Chevy, our little yearling, was Reserve Champion Small Shetland Yearling and also won his Miniature Pony class.  And Ananaka Lodge Royal Jackpot, our clients pony was Champion Miniature Pony Gelding and won his colour class as well.  To top things off, 2 of the prizes (for champions) were bags of feed, which will come in VERY handy.

Wooloo Golden Josh had a sudden and very unexpected transformation in order to compete at Ballarat show.  Josh has been getting hard feed, but has had no rugs on for 3 months, & no bath in 8 months.  We were planning on just washing the mane and tail, in order to get it clean for later shows.  It didnt come up too bad, so we gave it another wash, & it came up clean, so to Joshy's delight, he ended up with an all over bath... Taken to the show, and he was awarded 2nd and Reserve Champion Shetland Entire 8.2h & under.  Our cute little gelding Reztak Chevy also went along, after battling a bit of a cold this past week, and he won his yearling gelding class & was awarded Champion Shetland gelding (any age) 8.2h & under.  Great effort for a yearling.  Very proud of the boys.

Reztak Chevy, our recently purchased yearling gelding, was awarded Champion Shetland Yearling 8.2h & under at Colac show yesterday.  While our clients pony, Ananaka Lodge Royal Jackpot won his 3yo Miniature pony gelding class and was just pipped for Reserve champ.

Our black buckskin filly, Ponytails Sweet Harmony has been sold back to her breeder.  We wish Nicole lots of success with her.  We have made the decision to just keep 1 breeding mare for the time being, hence her sale.  We do still have the use of Jiminy Dakota as well at the moment, as she is in foal to Josh.  Once Katie foals, she will be signed over to her new owner.

Well, he has arrived...  Our very precious foal (a chestnut pinto colt) from Dreamy was born 5.45 AM on Monday 24th October.  Dreamy had a horrific birth, with the vet saying that the foal would be dead on delivery.  To everyones amazement, he was born alive!  Micky, as he is now called at home, is a very tough little bugger... Very forward, strong and friendly.  We will have tons of fun campaigning him.  His registered name will be "Sialer Park Miracle Of Dreams"

Geelong Royal is over for another year, and the 2 ponies we took did us proud.  Anakaka Lodge Royal Jackpot, who was seriously ill only a short time ago went and was placed 2nd in both his classes. He looked a treat.  Our new boy Reztak Chevy was also taken (as his breeder had entered him).  Chevy performed extremely well and was awarded 1st place.  Very proud of our little boys.

The last week of September was an extremely stressful one, when our clients pony Ananaka Lodge Royal Jackpot can down very ill with that the vets think was colitis as well as a touch of colic.  Jack was at the vet hospital from the Monday through to the Saturday, but all seems well now.  Jack is home, eating and happy.  His owner is over the moon that he is home and healthy.

On a different note, our little black pinto girl (Jiminy Dakota) has just been confirmed in foal to our pali boy (Wooloo Golden Josh, on what was her first cycle. Well done Katie (& Josh) We hope for a nice easy pregnancy and a safe delivery in about 10 months time.

The first show of the season has been and gone.  And what a LONG day it was.  We took our clients black gelding Ananaka Lodge Royal Jackpot to the Vic NMR State Champs Show at Castlemaine where he won his class and went on to receive Reserve Champion Miniature Pony Gelding.  Jack's owner was THRILLED with his results.  Not only was it our first time showing Jack, but also the owners very first show with him since purchasing him.  Congrats Karen.  We hope there are a lot more big wins to come your way from this beautiful boy.

The NMR show also saw us bring home a new addition to the show team.  The chestnut pinto yearling gelding Reztak Chevy will fly the flag for us in all 3 of his registrations.  Chevy performed beautifully at the show and won his yearling gelding class as well.

We also now have a SHOW ACCESSORIES page up and running, with a range of items made here by me, for the showing fraternity.  Feel free to contact us regarding any item that you see on our page.

Daanmor Bobby Sox whom we sold a couple of years ago has just returned home to us, to be a companion pony and nanny to the foals again.  A job that he loves VERY much.  Bobby will live in the laneway where he can chat to everyone... Thanks to Bronia for allowing Bobby to return to us.

Holidays are now over for the ponies.  Jack and Candy are now all beginning their show preparations.  Josh is currently undertaking stud duties and 'may' be prepped later in the season for the big shows.

The foal shows are now over, and the new kid Ananaka Lodge Royal Jackpot has arrived, so all the ponies are now on holidays.  They will have a 2 month break before beginning the 2011-2012 show campaigns.

Amazing news came thru last night from South Australia.  Sialer Park Cuddlepie was awarded Supreme Champion Miniature Pony Youngstock Exhibit at the Youngstock show (only her 2nd outing).  What an amazing effort, especially for a yearling!!!... Huge congrats to the Champion family (Harvion Stud) on this great success.  We are extremely proud of you all.

This month we welcome a new pony to the show team.  Ananaka Lodge Royal Jackpot (a black rising 3yo gelding) has been purchased by a good friend of ours, and will be prepped and shown by us on their behalf.  Jack has been incredibly successful in his first show season, so hopefully we can continue his successful career.

Ponytails Candyman and Ponytails Sweet Harmony have just got home from their first 'foal show'...  We only did one class with each pony due to the cost of entries (and the fact we have other shows coming up).  Candy was awarded Champion Miniature Horse OR Pony Foal, whilst Monnie was awarded Reserve Champion behind Candy.  VERY happy with how both babies performed and behaved.

The foals are well into their show preps now. We have missed one show due to me having an eye issue, but hopefully we'll get to the next one.  We are also proud to announce that we (Sialer Park Miniature Equines) are now proudly sponsored by Surf Coast Floats.  If you're in the market for a new float, or even just some alterations/upgrades, give Ross and Michelle a buzz.  The Surf Coast Floats website is www.surfcoastfloats.com.au

This month has been a very quiet one.  The foals are now being prepped for the upcoming foal shows and Josh has been turned out for a well earned spell.

The only thing to note for this month really is that Shangrila GS Here To Impress, our brown pinto mare, has been sold to NSW.  I'm sure Sharni will continue to produce beautiful offspring with her new husband up there.

Our gorgeous and very precious little orphan colt, Ponytails Candyman  went to his first outing yesterday.  The Vic Pinto Society Youngstock Show.  Not only did he behave impeccably and do everything asked of him with no fuss, but he also won both his pinto foal classes 10.2hh & under, and was rewarded with Reserve Champion Pinto Foal ANY HEIGHT in the first ring.  We were blown away with his whole attitude at the show, and to win was just a bonus.  We were over the moon...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our wonderful stallion Wooloo Golden Josh finished his show season on a high at the NMR QLD Flood Relief show at Woodend today.  Josh was Reserve Champion Small Shetland entire, as well as Reserve Champion Miniature Pony Entire.  He can now enjoy a few months of well earned rest while we get the babies out & about.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shangrila GS Here To Impress has been sold to NSW.  We didn't want to sell this lovely little girl, but she is not Shetland, so we made the tough decision to sell her.  She will leave for her new home in a few weeks.

Snip, our little black weanling filly has returned home to her original breeder.  We have decided to just keep purebred Shetlands, so this was the best option.  Now we just need to find a nice loving home for her dam.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, Barastoc started off mediocre, with Josh only placing 3rd in his Palomino male Mane and Tail class (after winning it at the Nationals), but things soon got better.  He went on to win the Palomino stallion 14.2h & under class, and followed up with Reserve Champion Palomino Stallion... Go Joshy..

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First show for this month was the Colac Agr Societies Summer Show.  Josh went in 2 classes for Champion Small Shetland Exhibit, and Champion Palomino Entire.

Next up is Barastoc... Question is, can we keep his coat right for long enough.

Ponytails Sweet Harmony, our new filly has officially been DNA tested as being Black buckskin.  While the colt, Ponytails Candyman has also been tested as Buckskin as well as being Homozygous pinto, meaning every foal he produces will be pinto.  We are extremely happy with these results.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Home from the Summer Royal.  Josh performed very well placing 2nd in both his Miniature pony and Shetland classes, and 4th in the Palomino class.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are thrilled to announce that 2 new Small Shetland foals will be joining us shortly.  Both are stunning and a credit to their breeder.  We thank Nicole Stafford for parting with such special babies, and in particular the colt, whom lost his dam recently, leaving him an orphan.  Ponytails Candyman is a stunning buckskin pinto colt, while Ponytails Sweet Harmony is a beautiful black buckskin filly.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Poniewood Dreammaker has been retired on vets advice after stress foundering after the All Shetland Show last month.  Now that she is in foal, we are taking no chances with her.  If she improves enough, she may make a comeback after she foals.
